Mechanical Designer

When I’m not writing and illustrating my graphic novel, I work full time as a Mechanical Designer in the oil and gas industry.

I’ve been a Mechanical Drafter and Designer since 2000. I have extensive experience with AutoCad, Inventor, and Solidworks. I have worked in the oil and gas, turbomachinery, and packaged energy industries.

While I was with Cameron Int., I was heavily involved with designing the Mark IV BOP Control System, seen on the right (or bottom, depending on what device you’re viewing this page on), which won a Spotlight award at the 2015 OTC conference in Houston.

I also write and produce online training videos to teach people how to use Inventor Professional, an engineering modeling and drafting software package.

The training course I created is named Inventor Essentials: Organic Shapes Using Loft. In this course, I teach students how to build models similar to those shown on the left (or top), which I built for a client in 2016 using Solidworks.

If you’d like to see those videos, go to, sign up for an account, and search for my last name.
